Finished! ... and ?

Finished!
www.shedoeslove.com
It took me 2 days to set it up, and another 20 days to make it look more or less reasonable. Most photos which I made over the last 3 years are rubbish, and apparently the nicely processed photos on a model (I spent days and days learning how to process the model's face) are rubbish as well. Why? It seems that the fact that I have only one model is a factor here, because the same face in various necklaces/light/processing or filtering methods looks stupid. This is what my sis says, and since she is professional, I believe her.
Anyway, the web is finished and waiting.

I used google AddWords for advertising, but despite of a nice lady from the welcome service telling me that google is suitable for little businesses like mine, it seems completely useless. I used £25, not a single sale, maybe I need to improve my shop, or maybe it just does not work. I think that clicks are too expensive in comparison with the price of items in my shop. Lets do a little calculation: when I am looking for something, I search maybe 10 - 20 various places. That means I need on average 15 customers to open my website. Add to this 5 people which are not customers, but are looking for sth else, like jewellery photos. Each click costs £0.6 on average, which makes me spend on average £12 on adverts for every buying customer!!!  With earrings in my shop costing £12, having a shop online becomes an expensive hobby, since I need to buy semi precious stones and silver to make these earrings.

Only this weekend there was one day when 17 people clicked on my earrings advert, but not a single sale. Probably they were looking for something different, maybe more traditional. My coral earrings are quite specific, some of them quirky, and not everybody likes beaded earrings. The idea is to attract only customers which appreciate my style, but how?

I still have £30 for google adverts, which my good big brother gave me, and 6 days to use these £30. If this does not kick out, I will give up the idea of using google.

So here I am, in the living room at six in the morning, playing with background adjustment on my turquoise-coral designs. Insomnia did not bother me much this year, and even disappeared for some time when MiGatoMechicano moved here. But last week he left with an excuse silly enough to make me wonder if it is real at all. During the day I am busy looking for a new job and do not think much about him. But at night this question keeps me busy: why the hell he leaves me alone to go to another city to work 3 hours per day, earning damn £20 per damn day? Why not here?

Anyway, this is the result of tonight insomnia (reconstitued coral and turquoise). Photos taken two years ago, waiting quietly on a CD for this sleepless night to be processed. Picture is properly messy, which is quirky enough, however the disadvantage is that one can hardly see what's on the picture:

On the other hand the "polite" photo below looks dull. This is how I killed a big part of my jewellery: making dull pictures.
Another one, coloured background saved my time, no need for background removal, but the colours are lost:

This one is a proper messy design, proper background, I hope, and earrings look like cherries, which I love (and miss a lot, when was the last time I was sitting on a cherry tree?)

Is it all right? More contrast?

And this one, my almost favourite:

This one has a story, which is interesting for me, a designer who tries to understand his potential clients. So when I made it, I thought this is a crazy piece suitable only for young crazy girls wearing red shoes from vintage shops. Then who bought this one? An old English lady, a proper lady. A proper lady properly matching turquoise with red.

And more:

And matching earrings (reconstitued turquoise and coral):

Now the pricing: maybe £20 each, and earrings for 12 each? I feel like I try to robe people, when I ask for more than £10 for a jewellery which is not sterling silver, and then I visit a little sweet jewellery shop and open my eyes wide seeing a non-silver shiny little mass produced necklace for £45.

Its 8, a new day. New beautiful day.
